I wish the leaders of the USA would see as much value in trains and stations as the great people of Canada.We can only dream of a headline that state the improvement of 50 stations.Our leaders keep wanting to kill Amtrak,except the President and Vice President.If they fail to be reelected then again it will be a fight for life for Amtrak.I am glad that in the last 4 years they have got many more leaders to see the value of rail and mass transit.
You're absolutely right, bogusjoe, but what have you done to change the situation? All the rail fans in the world are not going to persuade the tea party types that spending public money on rail passenger service and facilities is a good use of the money. Perhaps they might accomplish something if the rail fans put more effort into changing public policy instead of expending their energy preaching to the choir.
