Christian Wolmar did it again --- as the world's best booster for railways and he gave the USA lots of credit for its rightful and vital place in railroad history.

Here is the info on the book: Publisher: Atlantic Books LCCN: 2012020987 / ISBN: 978-0857890351

The best place to pick up your collectable copy is at Barnes & Noble, or your local book store. Ask your public library to get a couple of editions.

The release for the book comes at the heels of rabidly insane 'GOPEC-Tea-Party Anti-Railers' on the pre-election rampage.

What are North-American Airports?

MULTI-BILLION dollar parking garages with special-air-service & short-haul buses that will shuttle arriving & departing passengers 'only' to on-site/off-site car rental locations.

Why not use this impasse to build a Keystone XL oilsands railway mega-tankcar delivery system, this could spur more North/South railway building throughout both Canada and the USA. The rail could move all types of commodities including paying VIA & AMTRAK passengers. Or consider a rail/pipe-line combination, since many oil and natural gas pipelines parallel roads and highways, in addition to the electrical grid.

Just think---there could be a really popular excursion between Fort McMurray, Alberta to the Alamo in Texas!

His journey takes him to Hell on Wheels, a dangerous, racous, lawless melting pot of a town that travels with and services the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, an engineeering feat unprecented for its time."
