Union Pacific: A sharper eye on IT

Typically, Union Pacific Railroad can't fill 20 to 30 positions in its information technology group because the Class I's recruiters can't find enough people with the requisite skills. But a new information technology center UP opened in Austin, Texas, in December could help with those recruiting efforts. The facility brings recruiters and group leaders closer to the top-tier talent residing in one of the nation's hottest technology hubs. To learn more about the center, follow this link to read an article I wrote for our new "Upfront" section that was introduced in the January issue.

  • Not to take anything away from the UT, Chicago has three pretty darned good university computer schools; so this just sounds like so much PR puff.  Hard to conceive that UP recruiters could.t find Chicago or California.
