This year's edition of RailTrends® (Nov. 21-22 at the W New York Hotel in New York City) will be our ninth, and an underlying program theme is "rail's role in a new energy and manufacturing era," as RailTrends program consultant and Progressive Railroading columnist Tony Hatch notes in a piece that was published in our October issue. That role, of course, is huge, and the rails will leverage it as they continue to seize growth opportunities in the near and (likely) longer terms. Many (most?) RailTrends 2013 speaker will talk about (if not talk up) those and other opportunities (from intermodal to automotive), or their respective takes on same — from Progressive Railroading's 2013 Railroad Innovator Award Winner and Norfolk Southern Corp. Chairman and CEO Wick Moorman to Canadian Pacific CEO Hunter Harrison (the 2009 Railroad Innovator Award recipient) to NS President Jim Squires to CSX Transportation VP and CTO Cindy Sanborn to Genesee & Wyoming CEO Jack Hellmann to ... well, here's this year's complete agenda. "Big names, big topics, big city," as Mr. Hatch puts it. Want to join us? Here's how.
