The evolution of C&S and what's next

For a while now, communication and signaling (C&S) suppliers have been integrating, delivering and installing prepackaged signal material per railroads' needs. It's an evolution that essentially began with the just-in-time approach and picked up a bit of steam following a series of severe weather events this past decade, as noted in a piece published in our March issue. What's the next step in the evolution? What's next, period — particularly as the positive train control implementation process continues? Where's technology taking us? We'll ask C&S execs those kinds of questions at the 2016 Railway Systems Suppliers Inc. (RSSI) C&S Exhibition, which will be held June 28-30 at the Gaylord Texan Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. No need to wait for us to find you, though — feel free to share any/all next-step thoughts here on
