For railroads and transit agencies, the rail safety mission is never complete. Throughout the year, they spearhead a number of initiatives to help improve safety and eliminate injuries and deaths on rail property. This week is no exception: In coordination with Operation Lifesaver Inc., railroads across the United States are participating in Rail Safety Week, which features a host of safety-oriented events and activities.
To help railroads meet their safety goals, suppliers also offer a host of products and services, such as track worker protection gear and better crossing equipment. Over the summer, I reached out to the supply community to learn about the latest rail safety offerings. Check out my round-up from our September issue to get more acquainted with some of those products.
