Has anyone heard if there's going to be a 3rd. R-160 option? Or if the new R-179 is going to happen?
Don't think there will be any 3rd Option (technical reasons). NYCT just bid the R-188 with one bidder. This car is modeled after the R-142a. R-179 may, I repeat may bid in 2010.
Did R188 go out for bid to a designer or a car builder?
The R188 went out to two bidders basically although not technically. The car body design must match the R142A or R142. That should answer your question.
